On 1 July 2024, Hungary will take over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for the second time since joining the EU in 2004. This period is particularly significant as it coincides with the European elections, the establishment of a new Strategic Agenda and a new mandate for the Commission. The Hungarian Pre-Presidency Conference (PPC), organised by the HUN-REN Centre for Economic and Regional Studies and the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA), will take place in Budapest on 13 and 14 June 2024. The aim of the conference is to discuss the priorities of the Hungarian Presidency and key EU issues, focussing on discussions between policy makers, researchers, students and civil society representatives.
Prof. Dr Kaeding will moderate the panel ‘Results of the European elections: evaluation’ on 13 June at 15:30.
