The Department of Political Science at the University of Vienna is currently offering a position as University Assistant (Post-Doc). This position requires active participation in research, teaching and administration in the field of EU research (Prof. Dr Gerda Falkner). This implies above all
- Participation in research, teaching and institute administration;
- Development and expansion of an independent research profile in cooperation with colleagues at the EIF
- International publication and lecture activities
- Establishing long-term research structures and acquiring third-party funding
- Organising courses and supervising students
- Participation in research projects and organisation of international conferences
- Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance
The requirements are thematic specialisation with publications (or manuscripts) in the field of European integration or an EU policy, whereby the EU level should be clearly at the centre of research with a problem-oriented, qualitative and possibly comparative approach. Expertise that would expand the Vienna Working Group on Digital Europe is particularly welcome. Of particular relevance here are recently adopted EU measures such as the Digital Services Act or the Platform Work Directive, as well as projects to counter threats to democratic governance in Europe as a result of (legally or de facto) largely unregulated digitalisation.
