In the WDR 5 programme “Denk’ ich an Europa” on 18 January 2025, Prof. Dr Michael Kaeding spoke about the importance of understanding Europe’s diversity. He emphasised that an awareness of the different cultural and political backgrounds of the member states is essential for the further development of the European project. This understanding requires patience and commitment, but is the key to a united Europe.
Prof Kaeding also spoke about the “NRW debattiert Europa” event, which will take place again this week on 23 January on the Duisburg campus. He explained the format of the debating event and emphasised the European character of the event.
