The day after the debate between the leading European candidates, which took place in Maastricht on 29 April, Dr Alex Hoppe, research associate at the Chair of European Integration and European Politics and lecturer at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen, published an article for the (European) Federalist in which he analysed the debate.
