On 13 August, the non-governmental organisation Democracy Reporting International (DRI) published its new report on the campaign for the European elections. The report sheds light on various aspects of the European election campaign in eight EU member states: France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Spain. Chair member Caio Ponce de Leon R. F. was responsible for the chapter on Sweden.
In the case study, Mr Ponce de Leon analysed the online campaigns for the European elections conducted by the eight largest Swedish parties. The focus of his analysis was on how the parties used different social media platforms to reach potential voters and how their online strategies worked.
