Job Advertisement: Student Assistant at the University of Duisburg-Essen

The Department of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Duisburg Campus) is seeking to fill a position as a student assistant (f/m/d) at the Chair of European Politics and European Integration as soon as possible. The position comprises eight hours per week and is initially limited until 31 December 2026 (with the option of extension). The application deadline is 19 March 2026.

The position is part of the InvigoratEU (Invigorating Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy for a Resilient Europe) research project, which is funded under Horizon Europe and coordinated by the Jean Monnet Chair for European Integration and European Politics. The tasks include assisting with the formatting and completion of interim and final reports, collaborating on a toolkit on EU enlargement for civil society and the education sector, writing content for the project website and social media, and conducting research.

Applicants should be political science students in an advanced stage of their bachelor’s studies (including teacher training programmes), who are enrolled at a German university and have an interest in European politics and European integration. Candidates should demonstrate an independent, structured work style, initiative, and strong collaboration and communication skills. Very good written and spoken German and English skills are required.
