Application – Teaching posts with EU relevance at Goethe University Frankfurt

The Department of Social Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt has two vacancies for the winter semester 2023/24 two lectureships on the European Union at Bachelor’s or Master’s level for the winter semester 2023/24 level.

The Bachelor’s courses should be held in German, have an introductory character and deal in particular with one or more of the recommended focal points.

The Master’s courses should ideally – but do not necessarily have to – be held in English be held in English, have an in-depth character and deal in particular with one or more of the one or more of the recommended focal points.


  • Contract start: Winter semester 2023/24
  • Contract duration: Winter semester 23/24
  • Working hours: 2 semester hours/week (30h/semester)
  • Application deadline: June 6th, 2023

In principle, it is possible to apply for two teaching positions. The prerequisite for the application is at least a Master’s degree in (Comparative) Political Science, International Relations, International Peace and Conflict Studies, Governance or a comparable a comparable social science degree programme. Teaching experience is desirable. Applicants must not be employed by Goethe University.

The teaching assignment comprises 2 SWS (30h/semester) and is remunerated at a rate of 45 €/SWS. The maximum remuneration is 1,350 € per semester per course.

This should include an academic CV with details of any teaching experience as well as one or more proposals for possible for a possible course with a meaningful description (possible topics of the sessions, bibliography sessions, bibliography, requirements for obtaining a certificate). The proposal should make clear whether it is a Bachelor’s or Master’s course. In principle, it is possible to offer block courses, block courses are possible, but weekly courses are preferred.
