Application – Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche:r Mitarbeiter:in) (PostDoc)

At the University of Bremen in Faculty 8 Social Sciences in the Institute for European Studies – subject to the release of the position – as of October 1st, 2023 there is a position for a Research Assistant (PostDoc) salary level EG TV-L 13 with the full working hours (100%) for a limited period of 3 years.

The time limit is based on academic qualifications in accordance with § 2 Para. 1 WissZeitVG (Science Time Contract Act). According to this, only applicants who still have sufficient qualification periods according to § 2 Para. 1 WissZeitVG can be considered.

The future job holder is expected to have an independent research profile in European research, which is reflected in corresponding publications. A substantive interest in party and interest group research as well as in social science institutional research is desired. The willingness to acquire and participate in third-party funded research projects in these subject areas is also expected.

Recruitment requirements are:

  • A social science doctorate completed with very good grades, preferably in the field of Political Science;
  • Proven knowledge in the areas of social and political science European research, also documented by publications in relevant specialist journals;
  • Very good knowledge of social science research methods;
  • Very good knowledge of English and willingness to teach in English.
